How to Make Royal Icing Eye’s – Your 4 Step Guide
Prepare your template
Print out the template and place grease proof paper over the top of this. To stop your grease proof paper from rolling up you can pop a little blob of icing between this and your work top to act as a glue to hold this in place.
Ice the whites of your eyes
Take your white icing and if you are using a coupler then you can fit your size 2 nozzle. If you are just using a tipless piping bag then you can just pipe your white icing to form the shapes on your template.
Add the pupil and let them set
Place a small black dot of icing in the middle of your white eye’s and leave them all to set.
Remove and either use or store
When your eye’s are totally dry pop them off your grease proof paper, store them in an air tight container, and out of light as this can cause the colour to fade and they will last indefinitely!
Storage and Shelf Life
Store your icing eyes in an air tight container and out of direct light. Sunlight can cause the colours to fade, and if you do all this your eyes will last indefinitely.
