Cake stands can be used in so many different ways, you don’t just have to use them to display cakes. I find mine really useful when I am making a grazing tables too. You can use cake stands to tier the food on your grazing tables, and by doing this it can make them a little more aesthetically pleasing, and a little easier on the eye too.
I also used this cake stand to create the peonies table centrepiece, you could use this idea and create table centrepieces too for the theme or season you are working on or even for larger events such as weddings.
This cake stand can be used in so many different ways, and if this mirror version is not to your taste, no problem you can easily adapt suit your style.

How to Make a Cake Stand – Your 5 Step Guide
Step 1 – Measure to find the centre
Take the mirror, turn upside down and find the middle point by measuring from top to bottom and at the half way measurement mark with a small line, then do the same again measuring across from one side to the other. You should end up with a cross in the middle.
Step 2 – Measure The diameter of the base
Measure the diameter of your candle holder and divide by 2, for example if your diameter is 10cm, your middle measurement will be 5cm.
Step 3 – Mark it out
From the middle of your cross that you marked on the bottom of the mirror measure out the middle measurement from step 2, so in my example its 5cm with your ruler. Keep moving your ruler round slightly and marking the 5cm point until you have been all the way round and you have a circle shape marked out. If you have a compass, this will be much easier as you set this to 5cm / your measurement, place the point at the middle of your cross and then draw your circle.
Step 4 – Glue into place
Use your glue gun to place glue around the circle, just inside the circle and then place the candle holder on this quickly wiping away any excess glue. This should dry very quickly, but I would leave for 2-3 hours, or even better overnight to make sure it sets properly.
Step 5 – Show it off
Bake a cake or buy some sweet treats and show off your new creation!
Final Word
I hope you enjoy making this as much as I did, not only does this cake stand look lovely, but it is also a great way to show off all of your delicious treats. You can use this stand in so many ways too, just like i mentioned above these are great for grazing tables so you can tier your grazing feast and to make table centrepieces. I am sure you can come up with lots of different ways to showcase your beautiful new cake stand.
